Samantha Clarke

Samantha is a licensed social worker who works with teens and adults. She draws from a range of evidence-based therapies, including EMDR, DBR, and ego states therapy, to support clients in reconnecting with themselves after painful or traumatic experiences. She specializes in working with members of the queer community, survivors of sexual and physical abuse or complex trauma, and individuals navigating shock, grief, or traumatic loss.

My Story

My path into trauma work began on the front lines of crisis response. For over 10 years I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families in the immediate aftermath of life-altering trauma, including sexual and physical abuse, sudden or violent loss, or mass casualty events such as shootings and natural disasters. In the moments when everything felt devastating or unbearable, I witnessed something profound: even in the depths of shock and grief, the human system is wired for connection and healing.

Through this work, I came to deeply trust the body’s natural desire to move toward safety, integration, and wholeness. Trauma can disrupt our sense of self, relationships, and the world around us, but it does not erase our innate capacity to heal. My role is to help create the conditions where that healing can unfold.

I have a strong commitment to creating a space that is queer-affirming, anti-oppressive, social-justice centered, and welcoming to those who may not have felt fully seen or understood in traditional therapy spaces. I am also passionate about the continued study of trauma's impact on the brain and body, and use research-based approaches to help clients understand what may be happening under the surface. Whether we’re working through long-standing trauma or the exhaustion of simply surviving, I aim to bring an approach that is part science, part soul, and always grounded in human connection.

In addition to direct clinical work, I have trained and taught professionals and community members on what it means to be trauma-informed, not just as a framework, but as a way of being. I’m passionate about fostering the understanding that we all hold unseen stories and struggles, and that meeting one another with compassion can be transformative
