Mindfulness may be fundamentally understood as the state in which one becomes more aware of one's physical, mental, and emotional condition in the present moment, without becoming judgmental. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy aims to help clients grow and find relief from symptoms of mental illness through the modification of dysfunctional thinking. MB-CBT helps people better control their thoughts, rather than be controlled by them, and develop new, positive behaviors to replace dysfunctional ones.
